Types of copper foil

Mainly there are two types of copper foil is used  one is  ED ( Electrode Posited ) and another is RA ( Rolled Annealed ). Lets discuss on this both by detail .



1.  ED ( Electrode Posited Foil)

It is the most widely used conductive material for printed wiring is electrode posited copper foil.The electroproduced copper foils produced by this process are usually shiny on one side and have a matte finish on the reverse side. The smooth, shiny side represents the beginning of the copper casing and the smooth finish reflects the surface of the drum cathode. The matte side represents the development of copper grains.

2. RA copper foil ( Rolled Annealed )

Rolled or wrought copper foils have been and still are basically used for
flexiMost laminated copper foils used in the laminate industry are used in flexible circuits and are usually fastened to a flexible material with the help of an organic adhesive where the flexibility of the foil is required for application. Another important application of laminated sheets is in important microwave applications where the very smooth surface of the sheet allows the laminates of fluoropromer (Teflon) to produce very low DF (dissipation factor). DF with aluminum foil is inferior to laminated paper due to a phenomenon called the "surface effect", which in effect states that the electrical signal traveling at high microwave frequencies follows the copper path along the interface dielectric. . Treated or heat treated, they are the most moist sheets available. This advantage may be important for applications that require continuous flexing.

Properties of Copper Foil

Depending on the properties required for the particular design, the feel can be ordered as "rolled", "declaration of light", or "fully annealed" (recalculate).
